A region in the southern part of Spain with the Mediterranean Sea its southern and eastern border, resulting a highly popular European tourist’ destination.
The region presents a wonderful combination of great beach resorts such as in the famous Costa del Sol in the east and Costa de la Luz the South, and the fabulous Moorish heritage architecture Jewels as in the fascinating Golden Triangle cities and their wonders including;

On top of the leading cities, its highly enjoyable to explore the countryside and coastline and to visit the picturesque towns and whitewashed villages.
Visit destinations such as Ronda west of Malaga, Jerez de la Frontera the capital of the Andalusian horse culture south of Seville, the luxurious Costa Del Sol town of Marbella, and the charming Andalusian town of Antequera, north of Malaga, all with their numerous churches, palaces, and the unique Megalithic burial Dolmens, all representatives of a great travel region.

And if nature and outdoor activities are also your favorite, Andalusia has a lot to offer.
In addition to the coastline amazing beaches, you will find high snow-capped Mountain’s valleys and lakes in the Sierra Nevada and rich woodland at Cazorla National Park, and great hiking trails such as El Caminito Del Rey near El Chorro, or the Tajo Gorge trail in Ronda.

While traveling this beautiful region experience its culture and the authentic vibes, the matadors and bullrings, the Flamenco dances, the festivals and the great local Tapas and Sherry of Jerez de la Frontera and Cadiz, the “pescaíto frito” in Malaga, and the cured ham in Cordoba.

Andalusia has dry and hot summer, and a relatively mild winter and spring.

Reaching Andalusia is possible by car from central Spain, Madrid or Barcelona, by flights to Seville and Malaga, and by the high-speed AVE train from Madrid to Cordoba.

As the regions attractions are relatively close, and long driving is not necessary we recommend renting a car.
Based on the region major tourist’s destination’s locations Thetjoy.com recommends two main travel routes, in western and eastern Andalusia, while combining visits of the marvelous attractions with some relaxation time at one of the beautiful beach resorts available in both routes.

Spen at least 6-8 days traveling Andalusia and enjoying one of its beautiful sandy beaches.

In the western Andalusian route Thetjoy.com recommends;

  • Visit Seville for at least two days and while staying in the city, and as time allows, travel its surroundings by car or train.
  • Visit Cordoba in the North (140 km northeast of Seville) for one day and consider traveling southeast from Cordoba (200 km) to the magnificent Granada for additional 2 days.
  • A complete summer vacation would be to combine the visits to Seville and Cordoba (and Granada) with traveling south of Seville to Jerez de la Frontera and Cadiz (90 and 120 km south of Seville), and to spend few days (or more) in one of Cadiz beaches or in a beach resort south or North of Cadiz in Costa de la Luz.

In the eastern Andalusian route Thetjoy.com recommends;

  • Set your travel base in Malaga or in one of the other nearby beautiful Costa del Sol towns and beach resorts.
  • Visit Malaga for 1-2 days and spend 1-4 days exploring the Andalusian surroundings.
  • Travel to Nerja in the east and Marbella in the south both part of the Costa del Sol, and take a circular route west to Antequera, El Caminito Del Rey and El Chorro, and Ronda.
  • Another beautiful 1day trip would be a coastal drive of 134 km southwest through Marbella to the famous rock of Gibraltar at the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea offering overwhelming views of Africa, and if time allows consider additional 2 Days Trip to Tangier and to the exotic port city of Ceuta in Morocco.
  • Further away, a nice 1-3 Days Trip would be northeast to the must see Granada and the Alhambra Palaces, and southeast of Granada for some outdoor time in the Sierra Nevada National Park.
  • Similarly, travel for 1-3 days west to visit the beautiful Seville and Cordoba.
    Needless to say, that spending few days (or more) in one of the highly popular Costa del Sol beach resorts for relaxation and leisure is almost a must.

You can fly directly to Andalusia’s Seville or Malaga, or you can fly into Spain’s Barcelona or Madrid, visit these beautiful cities and there surroundings and continue for your visit and vacation in Andalusia.
