With fifteen mountain peaks of more than 3,000 meters it is one of the best nature parks in Spain, 70 km southeast of Granada. In the park enjoy spectacular landscapes of deep valleys, streams and lakes.

Best accessed from the Capileira and Trevelez villages, the northern part of the Sierra Nevada range is the best Skii area in Spain. In Summer the mountains offer numerous hiking trails ranging in length and difficulty, such as the Sulayr trail, and Mountain Biking such as on the Transnevada mountain bike trail. Also in the park, hunting and fishing, Horse riding, off-road vehicles tours, and Hot air Balloon rides.

The southern part of the mountains range is home to a variety of plants, herds of ibex and eagles, and to numerous small villages. In the villages scattered around, such as in the southern Lanjaron village, you will find lodging, holiday homes, restaurants, and SPAs.

We would recommend visiting one of the tourist information centers in the entrance villages, such as in Hoya de la Mora, Capileira, Trevelez, and others, for an updated information regarding the outdoor activities opportunities and the best attractions  to visit.
