Madrid’s central and old town area is quite small and compact, hence touring by foot is easy and highly recommended. Start your visit in Puerta del Sol, a lively location with small local shops and numerous cafés and restaurants, and start walking through the nearby major attractions. Visit the 17th century Plaza Mayor cobblestone square, the vibrant and colorful San Miguel market, and the impressive complex of the highly decorated Almudena Madrid Cathedral.

Near the cathedral, in The Basilica de San Francisco el Grande, you will be impressed by the beautiful paintings of Goya, Velázquez, and Zurbarán. Also near Puerta del Sol spent at least half a day visiting the Golden Triangle of Art museums including one of the world leading fine art museums Prado Museum, The Reina Sofía Museum, and The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.

Visit the 18th century Royal Palace with its luxurious monarch apartments and numerous artworks, and continue to Plaza de España and the 2nd century BC Egyptian Temple of Debod.
Enjoy the nearby 18th century Ermita de San Antonio de la Florida, a church home to magnificent frescoes by Goya, and the grand 18th century Puerta de Alcalá Granite triumphal arch, then relax in the highly popular and beautiful Buen Retiro Park for few hours of natural environment and tranquility.

With children visit the large Madrid Zoo, the Warner Theme Park, and the large Aquopolis water park.
Madrid offers numerous shopping opportunities, from the Gran Via & Sol major fashion brands to Calle Preciados’ and Calle Carmen’s shopping chains, Calle de Serrano chic district, San Miguel and El Rastro Markets, Las Rozas Village outlets, and many others.

At night Madrid offers bustling nightlife, with great Tapas Bars, fine dining restaurants, clubs of various music styles, local Flamenco shows, and much more. The nightlife venues are spread all over the city from Salamanca Quarter, the best offer of vibrant nightlife in Madrid, to Malasaña Quarter known for its alternative scene.
