  • Phuket beaches concentrate almost entirely on the west coast facing the
    Andaman Sea where sunset views, consistent waves, and protection from
    northeast monsoons create excellent conditions. The Phuket beaches are
    30 km long, stretched from Mai Khao in the north to Nai Harn in the
    south, each separated by rocky headlands creating distinct bays with
    individual character.
    The beaches’ characteristics vary from Patong’s extreme commercialism
    to Mai Khao’s pristine national park isolation, from the upscale
    Surin Beach to Rawai’s working fishing village. Choose your
    accommodation to match your beach preferences.
    The best swimming conditions are in November through April when the
    sea waters are calm and clear. During the monsoon season, May through
    October, strong winds create large waves suitable for surfing but not for
    swimming.
