• Tonsai Beach and Resort

The beautiful, long, Tonsai beach stretch lies beneath towering limestone cliffs, 2 km south of Ao Nang beach, at the northern part of the peninsula. The beach is considered hardcore climbers’ destination.
The resort offers low cost accommodation, with somewhat alternative atmosphere oriented to the young, budget backpackers, and the climber’s community. Bob Marley, drum circles, and occasional full-moon parties, are all typical to the beach, depending on season and police tolerance.
In the limestone cliffs numerous climbing routes, with the Tonsai Wall on the southern side offering sport climb routes ranging from moderate to difficult.
Deep water Soloing, climbing without ropes above deep water, is also popular.
Several climbing schools operate in the Tonsai area.
Access the beach from Railay by walking trails, from Railay East and from Railay West beach at low tide, or by long-tail boat from Ao Nang.
