An iconic fortified Medieval and Tudor manor house and gardens on the River Wye, 3 km south of Bakewell near Chatsworth Castle. The manor house origins are in the 11th century, with renovations carried out in the 13th through to the 17th centuries. The manor house was closed for hundreds of years resulting in that its interiors, from the 14th century to the 17th century, was maintained untouched with minimal degradation.
