• Bourtzi fort

A 15th century fortress built by the Venetians on the Ayiou Theodhorou islet, offshore in the middle of the harbor. The Bourtzi fort was linked to the Akronafplia fort by a chain, preventing enemy vessels to approach the harbor. The fort was converted into a luxury hotel in the early 20th century, then to a culture center. A short boat trip to the fortress is quite popular.
