A charming Medieval city 70 km south of Florence, built on three hills and mostly looks the same as it did 400-700 years ago.

The perfectly preserved Gothic architecture, especially in the historic center, makes you feel as if you are in an open-air museum.
Stroll the narrow streets and enjoy lively Siena during day and night, with theatrical and musical performances, small local shops, and obviously the local food and wine.

Siena’s major attraction and the heart of the city is its unique Piazza Il Campo and the surrounding buildings.
Every year on July 2 and August 16, the famous Il Palio Horse Race is held around the Piazza the same as it did 400 years ago.

Around the Piazza you visit and admire several attractions including;

  • The Duomo, Siena’ cathedral
  • The Piccolomini Palace
  • Palazzo Pubblico
  • Torre del Mangia which offers great landscapes of Siena and the countryside.

Visit the Civic Museum home to a collection of works by the greatest Medieval Siena’s painters including Domenico Beccafumi,  Simone Martini, Guidoriccio da Fogliano, Ambrogio and Pietro Lorenzetti, Duccio, and others.
