• The Capuchin Crypt

A six rooms crypt whose soil was brought from Jerusalem, located beneath the church of Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini, near Piazza Barberini and the Trevi Fountain. The Crypt contains the skeletal remains of 3,700 bodies believed to be Capuchin friars buried by their order. In the Crypt a unique display of human bones believed to have been taken from bodies of friars who had died between the 16th and the 19th centuries.  A guided tour should be pre-booked.
