A 16th century Roman Catholic late Renaissance church, at the top of the Piazza di Spagna Stairs, offering breathtaking view of the city.
In the church, scenes of the life of John the Baptist by Giambattista Naldini, an Assumption of the Virgin by Daniele da Volterra a pupil of Michelangelo, and scenes of the Passion of Christ by Paris Nogari. Admire the funeral monument of Cardinal Rodolfo Pio da Carpi by Leonardo Sormani, and a canvas of the Crucifixion painted by Cesare Nebbia. Also in the church numerous frescos by Perino del Vaga, Federico and Taddeo Zuccari, Pablo de Cespedes and Cesare Arbasia, and on the dome, frescos by Perino del Vaga.
