Islandia is a “circular” Island with two major regions which can be used as home base for traveling and enjoying the nature gems the island has to offer. Make Reykjavik your home base for traveling its surroundings including the Círculo Dorado, el Eastern Attractions, and the northwestern Península de Snaefellsness. The second option is to travel in the northern part of the island with Akureyri as a base, including the Círculo de Diamantes, el Lago Myvatn attractions, and the western coastal villages. You may also consider traveling and enjoying both areas by either flying or driving north from Reykjavik to Akureyri, or by encircling the island by driving east from Reykjavik to the magnificent and interesting attractions of the east including the Fjaorargljufur Canyon y el Laguna glaciar all the way north and west to Akureyri.
