  • A charming fishing village and vacation resort on the Mediterranean coast of the French Riviera between Cannes and Nice, built on the site of the Greek and Phoenician colony, Antipolis. Antibes is famous for the iconic skyline of wonderful colored old buildings surrounded by medieval fortifications high above the Mediterranean. The calm but lively and picturesque small town is home to a long stretch of sandy beaches, Palm trees, and the Vauban port, the largest Yachts and cruise ships marina in the French Riviera. Stroll the narrow cobbled alleys and the small squares in the walled Medieval Old Town (Vieil Antibes) on the Bay of Angels, and enjoy some of the best restaurants in the region.
    Window shop the small boutiques and local shops, and explore the wonderful Marche Provencal market offering local produce, Provencal handcrafted items, clothing, artworks and more.
    While on the old town walls enjoy the overwhelming scenery of the beautiful coastline all the way to Nice and north to the snowy caps of the Alps.
    Visit Pablo Picasso Museum within the impressive Grimaldi Castle, home to one of the world’s most impressive collections of the artist that made the town his home in the mid-20th century, the cartoonist Raymond Peynet Museum, the small but impressive Archaeology Museum within the 17th century Saint Andre Bastion, and the Musee National Picasso ‘La Guerre et la Paix’ within a 12th century chapel in Vallauris, 7 km west of Antibes.
    Visit the 16th century 26 meters high Fort Carre, part of the town walls, offering great waterfront scenery, and relax in the beautiful Villa Thuret Botanic Gardens.
    If you do not plan to spend your vacation in Antibes, spend a day visiting town, the Cape d’Antibes resorts and beautiful seascape, the beautiful nearby seaside resort town of Juan-les-Pins, then continue east to visit Cannes and Saint Moritz, or west to Nice and Monaco.
