• Wat Phan Tao

Wat Phan Tao, located beside Wat Chedi Luang, is one of Chiang Mai’s most beautiful and photographed temples, with its wooden structure built from golden teak panels carved with lotus and celestial beings. The temple was originally a royal residence before being converted to a monastery. The main temple hall is home to a seated Buddha statue, raised on a stone platform, with the hall’s roof supported by massive teak pillars, and peacocks carved above the entrance.
