• Wat Pha Lat

Wat Pha Lat is a forest monastery of moss-covered ruins, ancient trees, trickling streams, and meditation platforms, off the bitten track, with only few tourists visiting. The temple partially in ruins is hidden in the forest on the mountain path between Chiang Mai and Doi Suthep. Buddha statues sit beneath trees, temple buildings emerge from the forest, and the sound of water and birds creates a profound sense of peace. Several meditation platforms and monk huts are scattered through the surrounding forest.
To reach the temple hike the 2-3 km Monk’s Trail ascending from the base of Doi Suthep through beautiful forest.
