• Wat Chiang Man

Chiang Mai’s oldest temple, founded in 1296 by King Mengrai to be his residence when the city was established. The temple is home to two of northern Thailand’s most adored Buddha statues, the Phra Sila marble Buddha, and the small crystal Buddha, Phra Satang Man.
The temple’s main stupa is a gold-topped structure supported by a square base featuring rows of carved replica elephant structures. In the main hall, beautiful Lanna-style Buddha statues and well-preserved murals. The temple is in the northern section of the Old City near the Chang Phuak Gate.
