• Vienna’s Museum of Fine Arts

The Kunsthistorisches Museum is the largest art museum in Austria and one of the most important museums in the world, located in Ringstraße, Vienna. The museum building with its Renaissance Revival facade has an extravagantly decorated interior with marble, stucco ornaments, gold leaf decorations and murals. The museum’s primary collections are based on the Habsburgs art collections, including paintings collection specializing on late Italian Renaissance, Baroque, and Flemish painting. The magnificent collection includes Dutch art and the world’s largest collection of works by Pieter Bruegel the Elder.
Also, part of the collections are works by masters such as Messina, Raphael, Durer, Titian, Brueghel, Rubens, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Velazquez, Gainsborough and many others. Other collections of the museum are the Egyptian and Near Eastern Collection, Greek and Roman Antiquities, Sculpture and Decorative Arts. Another wonderful collection is the chamber of wonders, with marvelous artifacts such as decorated backgammon sets, mechanical ships and priceless salt cellars.
Other affiliates of the museum are the Collection of Ancient Musical Instruments and the Collection of Arms and Armor in the Hofburg Palace, the Museum of Carriages in Schonbrunn Palace, and others.
