A town in Costa Brava, north of Barcelona, with Neolithic, Roman, and Medieval origins.

The 14th century ‘Vila Vella enceinte’ is the only fortified medieval town still standing on the Catalan coast. The old town still has its original stone walls, four turrets and three cylindrical towers.

Walk the charming narrow cobblestone streets and visit the Governor’s House now the Municipal Museum, the House of Holy Cloth (“Sant Drap”), a Medieval hospital, and the remnants of a Romanesque and Gothic churches.
