• The Vikos–Aoos National Park

The park mountainous terrain has numerous rivers, lakes, caves, deep canyons, and forests. The park lies in the region of Epirus in the northwestern part of Greece, 30 km north of Ioannina in the northern part of the Pindus Mountain range.
The highly popular park among travelers and hikers, offers numerous outdoor activities opportunities including rafting and kayaking in the Voidomatis river, hiking and mountain biking. The major attractions in the park are the Aoos Canyon, and the spectacular Vikos Canyon carved by the Voidomatis river, with its 12 km long and 1,000 meters deep main part. In the park rich flora and fauna including the brown bear.
Popular trails in the park include a seven hour trail of medium difficulty through the Vikos Gorge, and a trail around the peaks of Mt Tymphe.
In the park several viewpoints offering great panoramic views of the Vikos Gorge and the National Park, such as the Beloi Viewpoint near Vradeto, the Oxya Viewpoint, the Vikos Gorge Viewpoint near the village of Vikos, and the Monastery of Saint Paraskevi.
