• The Serralves Museum

Museu de Arte Contemporanea de Serralves is a contemporary art museum part of the Serralves Foundation Complex, The Fundacao de Serralves, which comprises also the art deco Serralves villa home to temporary art exhibitions, and the House of Cinema, all within a beautiful park and gardens.
The museum, considered one of the leading  contemporary art museums in Europe, is home to an impressive collection of artworks mainly from 1960 onward made by Portuguese artists including Helena Almeida , Manuel Casimiro , Lourdes Castro , Álvaro Lapa, and many others. Among the international leading artists presented are Andy Warhol, Joan Miro, Gerhard Richter, Keith Haring, and many other renowned artists.
In the park surrounding the museum enjoy modern sculptures which are scattered around along with beautiful flora and flower gardens.
In late May or early June enjoy the Serralves em Festa festival including art and music events, workshops and food stalls.
