• The Romano (Gypsy) quarter Sacromonte

Holy mountain, a highly picturesque quarter on Granada’s Valparaiso hill famous for its whitewashed caves (the cuevas). The cave homes were originally cut into the rock in the 15th century by a large Romano group to be used as residences. Visit the Caves of Sacromonte Museum presenting within several cave houses the day-to-day life and traditions in the caves 100 years ago.
Also visit the Sacromonte Abbey and its catacombs, offering great scenery of the Alhambra palaces and the Albaicin and Sacromonte quarters. At night, when the quarter comes to life, enjoy a Flamenco show, the traditional dance of the gypsies, in one of the iconic zambras, a series of caves where flamenco shows are held.
