• The Palace of Knossos

Crete’s biggest and best-preserved Minoan site dated to 1450 BC, located 5 km southeast of Heraklion. The palace includes four wings built around a central courtyard, with ceremonial spaces, living areas, storage rooms, elaborate decorations, and a complex drainage system. In the site, 20th century architectural reconstructions including fabulous replicas of the original frescoes that have deteriorated and are on display in the Heraklion Archaeological Museum.
