• The Nymphenburg Palace

A 17th century Baroque palace park and gardens in Munich’s Neuhausen-Nymphenburg district,  7 km northwest of the city center. The palace and gardens designed after the Paris Versailles Palace are considered one of the most beautiful royal residences in Europe, and one of the most popular attractions in Munich. The palace was built to celebrate the birth of the Bavarian heir Max Emanuel and served as the main summer residence for the House of Wittelsbach, the former rulers of Bavaria. Visiting the palace, you will enjoy the extravagant and beautifully decorated and furnished interior, the four museums located within the palace, and the impressive park and gardens.
Visit the three floors’ Stone Hall in the central pavilion to admire its beautiful ceiling frescoes, the stucco work and tapestries, the ladies’ portraits in the Beauty Gallery of King Ludwig I, the period furnishing, and much more. Visit the North and South Galleries with their detailed paintings of Bavarian Castles, and the Inner southern Pavilion home to the private apartments of the Wittelsbach Electors. The Carriage Museum located in the south wing is home to one of the largest and most impressive horse carriages and sleighs collections in Europe.
Visit the impressive Nymphenburg porcelain museum, Porzellanmuseum München, in the stables houses, the Museum of Man and Nature with its Children’s interactive displays in the north wing, and the Erwin von Kreibig Museum including works by Von Kreibig and various regional artists.
The magnificent palace park and gardens includes a formal garden, English landscape park, a wide water canal and fountains, artificial lake, and Greek Classic statues. In the summer, visitors can enjoy a Gondola ride in the Palace main canal.
