1 Day

Twenty kilometers of clear fresh waters, part of the mid to lower course of the Nera River, are the basis of the water park near the town of Terni, 120 km north of Rome. From the town of Terni going east, the area is characterized by small Medieval fortified villages and castles, green meadows, streams, stunning gorges, forests and rich vegetation. The park’s main attraction are the majestic 165 meters high Marmore Falls, the highest in Italy, artificially created by the ancient Romans.
The waterfalls resulted from the dry out of the countryside marshes while draining the waters of the Velino River into the underlying Nera River. Approach the waterfalls from the lower or upper levels, Upper and lower Belvedere, and take one of 4 hiking trails, two of which are suitable for small children, into and around the falls. The park, the river and the falls, offers numerous recreation and sport activities, hiking, caving, climbing, rafting, canoeing, and much more.
Be sure to check before reaching the park and the waterfalls for the available activities, parking areas, the area opening hours and the time periods in which the water is released into the falls. Contact Sito ufficiale del Turismo della Citta di Terni at Via Cassian Bon, Terni.
