• The Kinderdijk Windmills

A group of 19 windmills dated to the 18th century, part of the village of Kinderdijk near Dordrecht, 25 km east of Rotterdam and 120 km south of Amsterdam. The area is the largest concentration of old windmills in the Netherlands, and one of the most popular Dutch tourist attractions.

The Windmills were part of the system built to prevent flooding. Strolling the trails along the windmills, or taking a boat tour, you will enjoy the beautiful typical Dutch scenery of grassland, waterways, and dikes.

Visit the windmills and especially the Mill’s Museum, to learn about the life of the families operating the Mills in the early 19th century, and the technology used to operate them. Spend half a day in this must-visit attraction.
