• The Holocaust Memorial

The 2005 memorial for the murdered Jews of Europe, the victims of the Holocaust, and a startling reminder of Berlin’s dark history during WWII.
The monument on the eastern side of Tiergarten, south of the Brandenburg Gate, in Berlin, was designed by architect Peter Eisenman, on a 19,000 sqm site, consisting of 2,711 concrete slabs 2.38 meters long arranged in a grid pattern.
In the site an underground “Place of Information” where letters, diaries, and photographs of Holocaust victims including the names of 3 million Jewish Holocaust victims are recorded.
