A Science and Technology Museum located on an island in the River Isar, in Munich.
The highly popular family’s destination is considered the largest museum of its kind in the world with more than 25,000 exhibits of more than 50 fields of science and technology. From the early astronomy instruments to the latest Aerospace Technology, and from a wooden fishing boat to the latest aircraft technology. The museum has hands on interactive demonstrations, experiments, and media stations, with special exhibits for children ages three to eight.
The Deutsches Museum’s flight exhibition center, Flugwerft Schleissheim, is in the Schleissheim Special Landing Field, 18 km north from Munich. The Flight Exhibition Center is home to exhibitions related to airplanes history including 1940 flying wing glider, Vietnam war fighter planes, Russian planes, and many more. Also part of the museum is Verkehrsmuseum, at Theresienhohe, Munich, home to the land transport collection of the Museum.
