• The Democracy Monument

The Democracy Monument was built in 1939 to commemorate Thailand’s transition from absolute monarchy to constitutional monarchy. The monument with its 4 wings stands at the center of Ratchadamnoen Avenue, Bangkok’s grand ceremonial boulevard. The avenue stretches from the Grand Palace to the Royal Plaza and has been the site of many of Thailand’s most important political events and royal processions.
