• The Changing of the Guard

Ceremony and tradition, also known as ‘Guard Mounting’, takes place in front of the palace, where one regiment of the British army takes over from another. The New Guard, who during the ceremony become The Queen’s Guard, march to Buckingham Palace from Wellington Barracks accompanied by music.

The ceremony in front of the palace takes place weather permitting, at 11.00 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, and daily in the summer. For detailed schedules see the British Army website.
