• The Bridge over the River Kwai

The most famous landmark in Kanchanaburi and one of the most recognized symbols of World War II in Asia, the Bridge on the River Kwai at the northern edge of Kanchanaburi town. The current bridge is the surviving structure closest to the film and novel that made the bridge internationally famous. The bridge is in active use as part of the Thai rail network.
