• The Basilica of San Frediano

A Romanesque architecture of the 12th century in the Piazza San Frediano. The beautiful basilica facade is of the 13th and 14th centuries, decorated with golden mosaic representing the Ascension of Christ the Saver. The basin is decorated with the Story of Moses, panels presenting The Good Shepherd and the Six Prophets, and a sculpture representing the months of the year and the apostles. In the entrance, high on the wall, there are two 15th century Terra Cotta Lunettes of the Annunciation and St. Bartholomew. More in the basilica 16th century frescoes by Aspertini in the Chapel of the Cross, and the Death of St. Anna by B. Rocchi in the Chapel of St. Anne.
