An art museum in the Kunstareal area in Munich, one of the oldest galleries and most important in the world. The museum is home to a large and impressive collection of old masters’ paintings from the 13th-18th centuries period, including Early Italian, Old German, Old Dutch and Flemish paintings.
The museum collection includes paintings by the German Albrecht Durer, Lochner, and Holbein, by the Dutch and Flamish Rembrandt van Rijn, Rubens, Brueghel, and van Dyck, by the Italian Giotto, Fra Angelico, Botticelli, Raphael, da Vinci, Titian, and by the Spanish El Greco, de la Cruz, Velázquez, among many others.
