• The Albaicin Moorish Quarter

Overlooking the Alhambra palace, this 13th century medieval quarter which was very prosperous at the time, is home to numerous palaces and villas (carmenes). Stroll the maze of narrow streets and squares with their whitewashed houses, and explore the 11th century Albaicin fortress and towers, and the Puertas de las Murallas city gates with their hand painted tiles covered walls.

During your visit in the quarter explore the 11th century El Banuelo Arab Hammam (bathhouse), the 15th century Moorish palace of Palacio Dar al-Horra and admire the 16th century impressive Real Chancilleria. Above the quarter in Plaza de San Nicolas, enjoy the overwhelming landscapes of the Alhambra Palaces and the Sierra Nevada mountains range from the Mirador San Nicolas, a popular viewpoint, and an Instagram perfect photographic point.

While in the quarter enjoy the small local shops offering souvenirs and oriental products and the numerous local restaurants.
