• Stromboli

The most famous and spectacular of the Aeolian Islands, this small island is known for its continuously active Mount Stromboli, 926 meters high, visible with its minor eruptions from the sea.
The mountain has three active craters at its summit, with mild to moderate eruptions of incandescent volcanic explosions at intervals ranging from minutes to hours.

It’s a magnificent sight at night, when lava erupts from the top and streams down from the Sciara del Fuoco into the sea.
It is highly recommended to be part of a guided hiking tour that takes 2-3 hours up, and 1-2 hours down the mountain, reaching the mountain top at sunset or at sunrise and enjoying the great scenery of the sea and the erupting volcano.

Enjoy at night the amazing eruptions sight, from a boat deck out of the small Ginostra Port.

The Stromboli eruptions are without doubt the main attraction of the Aeolian islands.
There are few small villages and some nice coves along the northern coast at Piscita, with black sand beaches, considered the best in the Aeolians, perfect for swimming and relaxation.

Once in the Aeolian islands, a one day tour to Stromboli is a must, for a unique and mesmerizing experience of the erupting volcano.
