• Salina

The greenest and the most fertile of the Aeolian Islands, with its twin peaks of extinct volcanoes, and its capers and the sweet Malvasia white wine which can be tasted at the local vineyards.

In contrast to the volcanic terrain of the other islands, and as a result of its natural freshwater springs, the island’s hills are covered with woods, bushes, flowers, and grape vines, while high cliffs fall into the Mediterranean waters below.

Visit the village of Santa Marina Salina and the main port of the island, and walk the main street packed with chic boutiques, small shops, restaurants, and cafes in the 1st floor of 19th century buildings.

Outside Santa Marina Salina, the island feels secluded and tranquil, with marvelous hiking trails, and a few nice villages scattered along the island coast including Capo Faro, Malfa, and Rinella, with its port and beaches.

Also popular is Pollara on Salina’s western edge, with its beautiful beach located between the sea and the slopes of a volcanic crater.
