• Ronda

One of the most striking and photogenic spots in Andalusia, 100 km West of Malaga and 60 km Northwest of Marbella. A remote city built high up over the Tajo gorge and divided by it, boasting overwhelming views and the must-see iconic 18th century Puente Nuevo Bridge, 98 meters above the river.

In town explore the old center with its winding cobbled streets, charming squares, and beautiful Andalusian houses. Window shop the charming local shops on the main street of ‘Carrera Espinel’ and enjoy a delicious Tapas in one of many restaurants. Visit the 13th century highly preserved Arab Baths (Banos Arabes), and the old and impressive Plaza de Toros de Ronda Bullring.

Visit the Jardines (gardens) De Cuenca with their beautiful Roses Garden, admire the nearby Arco de Felipe 5th stone arch, and visit two beautiful Moorish houses and gardens, La Casa del Rey Moro, and Mondragon Palace who serves also as a small local history museum. Admire the magnificent landscapes of the town and its surroundings from the Mirador de Ronda and the Alameda del Tajo viewpoints on the edge of the Tajo Gorge. For outdoor experience hike the El Tajo gorge and the roaring Guadelevin river.

A nice short visit is recommended to Setenil de las Bodegas, 17 km North of Ronda, with its mountain setting and houses nestled into the hollows of the river gorge. 80 km West of Ronda you can find Arcos de la Frontera, a whitewashed houses village hovering on a cliff, with narrow winding streets and spectacular views.

Consider spending a day in this charming town, part of a two days tour from Malaga and the Costa del Sol, including visits in the town of Antequera, El Chorro and El Caminito Del Rey.
