• Rievaulx Abbey

Picturesque and striking ruins of one of the greatest abbeys in England, the Cistercian Abbey in Rievaulx, near Helmsley, in the North York Moors National Park. Founded in the 12th century it was dissolute in 1538 when the abbey consisted of 72 buildings occupied by the abbot, 21 monks, and 102 lay employees. Set in a remote and tranquil valley, wander around the extensive ruins, and enjoy the peaceful vibes and great landscapes.
