It’s a very nice small, dark sand, beach near the small town of Porto Formoso, on the central part of the northern coast.
The beach is also 18 km north of both Fogo and Furnas Lakes.
The beach is awarded with Blue Flag and has lifeguards in the summer season, beach facilities, a restaurant and a bar.
