• Portas do Sol Viewpoint

Miradouro das Portas do Sol is a balcony above the old Alfama district, offering panoramic view of the Medieval old houses’ rooftops cascading down to the waterfront.  As its name suggests, the “Gate of the Sun”, its a great place to view the sunrise. Near the viewpoint are cafes and restaurants, the castle, the cathedral, and the 18th century Azurara Palace now home to the Decorative Arts Museum which worth a visit. Walk to the viewpoint from Baixa, Lisbon’s downtown, or take the #12 and #28 Trams which stops by.
