A small and quiet beach town on the south coast, 78 km southeast Chania, 35 km south of Rethymno, and 112 km southwest of Heraklion. The beach is long and wide, with a mix of pebbles and sand, tavernas and small shops. East of town its sandy and more peaceful, while on the western side near town its livelier with restaurants and shops. Umbrellas and beach chairs are offered for rent. Note that the far east end of the beach is clothing optional.
