• Piraeus

A port city along the east coast of the Saronic Gulf, within the Athens urban area, 9 km southwest from the city center. Dated to the 5th century BC, it was also the port of classical Athens. The city is the main entry point for tourists coming on cruise ships to visit Athens, and it’s not a major tourist destination by itself.  Walk up the Kastella hill and enjoy the panoramic view of the city and the Saronic Gulf. In the center of Piraeus stroll the streets within the Piraeus Market area, visit Veakeio, the impressive neo-classical Municipal Theater, the Neo-Byzantine Piraeus Cathedral, and the Archaeological and Maritime Museums.
