The Ruivo Mountain is the highest in the archipelago of Madeira, and the third highest in Portugal, located in the municipality of Santana.
At an altitude of 1,862 meters, the mountain peak, Pico Ruivo, offers breathtaking scenery of Madeira, and in a clear day, all the way to the island of Porto Santo.
Admire the impressive massive rock formations that dominate the landscape rising above the clouds.
Reach the summit from the road leading south from Santana, via the PR 1.2 Vereda do Pico Ruivo, a hiking trail which takes an hour and a half.
