• Phuket Big Buddha

The Big Buddha, Phra Puttamingmongkol Akenakkiri, is a 45 meter high white marble Buddha statue in meditation posture, seated on a hilltop at 400 meters elevation, east of Kata and Karon beaches. The statue is Phuket’s iconic landmark. The statue facing northeast offers panoramic views of Chalong Bay, the western beaches, and the Andaman Sea to the horizon. Visit the statue in late afternoon or early morning for fewer crowds and clearer views.
