• Pattaya Eastern Islands

Pattaya serves as a convenient gateway to several magnificent islands in the Gulf of Thailand, south and east of Pattaya, each offering a very different character from Pattaya itself.

  • Koh Samet
The closest of the eastern islands, 200 km from Bangkok, is a popular weekend destination for Bangkok residents, offering white sand beaches, clear water, and a relaxed atmosphere on a small, easily explorable island part of the Koh Samet National Park.
  • Koh Chang
Thailand’s third largest island, 350 km from Bangkok, has a mountainous forested interior and it is the most developed of the eastern islands. In the island excellent diving and snorkeling conditions in the surrounding national marine park, and a well-established tourism infrastructure ranging from backpacker bungalows to comfortable resorts.
  • Koh Mak and Koh Kut
Quieter and less developed islands when compared to Pattaya and Koh Chang, offering beautiful beaches, excellent water clarity for snorkeling, and tranquility.
Both islands are best reached by ferry from the mainland piers near Laem Ngop, southeast of Trat.
