• Patara

A village on the Mediterranean coast, 61 km west of Kas and 73 km south of Fethiye, which was a flourishing maritime Lycian city. The village which is oriented for low budget travelers is home to numerous little pensions and low level hotels.
Patara is famous for its 20 km long and not crowded Patara beach, and the rich ruins of the ancient city on the sea-shore, east of the river Xanthus. The ruins include an amphitheater, the town walls and some of its towers, a castle, temple, few stone sarcophagi, and a 1st century lighthouse, among others.
