A small town presenting a masterpiece of Sicilian Baroque architecture, 32 km southwest of Syracuse.
Following the 1693 earthquake Noto was completely rebuilt under baroque ideal urban planning ideas.

You will enter town through the monumental Royal Gate (“Porta Reale”) and continue through Noto’s main historical street Corso Vittorio Emanuele to admire magnificent palazzos and impressive churches.
Most of the impressive Baroque architecture monuments surround the Piazza del Municipio, the Town Hall Square, including Palazzo Ducezio, the Cathedral, the 19th century Bishop’s Palace, the Landolina Sant’Alfano Palace, and the Basilica of SS. Salvatore.

Further in Corso Vittorio Emanuele Street you will find Piazza XVI Maggio with its magnificent Church of San Domenico and the inspiring Fountain of Hercules.

The beautiful Baroque buildings and urban design, combined with a lively atmosphere and beautiful small shops and cafes, makes Noto a nice town to visit for half a day.
