Naples is built on volcanic tuff limestone, and the extraction of this rock has created a series of winding tunnels and caverns. Exploring the tunnels network you will encounter a Greek water aqueduct active until the 17th century, Roman amphitheater, pagan burial chambers, Christian catacombs, and World War II air raid shelters. It’s a unique journey of wanders back in time, starting in the palace of Vico Sant’Anna di Palazzo, through yellow tuff tunnels and 2,500 years ago remains.
