• Maritime Museum of Crete

The museum which introduces its visitors to the history of Crete and its coexistence with the sea, is located in the western corner of Chania’s old harbor, at the entrance of the Firka fortress. The museum collection covers the Minoan period, through the Byzantine, Venetian, Turkish, and the German invasion of the island during WWII. Part of the museum collection are video presentations, ships models, paintings, and nautical equipment.
