• Llancaiach Fawr Manor

A 16th century Tudor manor house and now a living history museum known as the home of Colonel Edward Prichard who died in 1655, located near the village of Nelson, 29 km north of Cardiff. The Manor is one of the most important and fully restored gentry houses to survive from the 16th century period.

The Manor house tour takes the visitor through the various rooms and the 17th century reproduced furnishings. Llancaiach Fawr is considered one of the top ten haunted locations in the UK, and regular ‘ghost tours’ and Ghost Watches take place at the Manor. The Manor gardens are home to many of the original 16th century plants. Interesting workshops and seasonal events are held periodically in the Manor.
