• Lisbon Cathedral

Se de Lisboa is a Roman Catholic cathedral built in the 12th century as a fortified cathedral with thick walls and two bell towers flanking the main building. The cathedral is the oldest and most important church in Lisbon, built originally in a Romanesque style, and restored and renovated throughout the years to have Gothic interior, and Baroque and Rococo styles elements. Being less impressive than the major European cathedrals, inside the cathedral you will enjoy intricate carvings, stained glass windows, a towering pipe organ, a beautiful 14th century chapel, and more.  In the cathedral a 14th century cloister archaeological remains from the Roman, Arab, and Medieval periods, and in the Treasury, a collection of religious artifacts, including São Vicente relics, jewellery, and textile. Climb to the upper choir and balcony for panoramic views of Lisbon’s Alfama district and the river.
