• Lanta Old Town

Lanta Old Town, Ban Lanta, on the island’s eastern coast facing the mainland, preserves the island’s historical character as a trading port and sea gypsy settlement.
In the town’s main street along the waterfront, traditional, colorful wooden Sino-Portuguese shophouses built on stilts over the water and connected by elevated boardwalks, restaurants, cafés, art galleries, and handicraft shops. The atmosphere is sleepy with tourists enjoying seafood restaurants while seating on the waterfront watching boats sailing in the channel. In Sunday afternoons enjoy a small walking street market.
